Dear Brimley Area Schools Family: Today, we were notified by the Michigan State Police through the Critical Infrastructure Protection Desk that there were several “swatting” calls targeting K-12 schools around the state. The calls were received in Detroit, Jackson, Ann Arbor, and Okemos. The “swatting” calls were reporting that there was an active shooter in the building. Below you will find the letter for your review. Brimley Area Schools has NOT received any such call. If our district does receive a call, we will notify Central Dispatch and put our district in secure mode to investigate the credibility of the call. We will always take the safety of our students, faculty and staff seriously when such threats or reports are being made. Again, there has been no calls made to our district.

Brimley Area Schools would like to thank Reid Metals, Inc., and Mr. Cleve Reid for donating the trucking expenses as we worked together to recycle much of our old furniture. It is great to work with our local businesses as these relationships have an impact on the education of all of our students. Thank you so very much!
